Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Edouard Mendy conditions, Declan Rice decision made

Chelsea have just over two weeks left to secure deals in this summer's transfer window.

Frank Lampard is still looking to add to his squad for the upcoming season which started last weekend with a 3-1 victory over Brighton.

The Blues boss has been linked with a number of players but as ever, any moves are far from straightforward.

Here is a round-up of some of the latest rumours.

Timo Werner interview

Edouard Mendy latest

Chelsea are still in for Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and expected to sign the 28-year-old.

However, there is a hold-up to proceedings because the French club want to take Fikayo Tomori on loan in return.

Two clubs are locked in talks over the deals and The Express are reporting via Sky Sports that Rennes have have made 'two last-minute adjustments' which is delaying the moves.

One is the fact they want Tomori on loan and the other is a change to the structure of the Mendy deal.

Mendy is set to arrive at Stamford Bridge as a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga between the sticks.

Rice set to be a no goer

Chelsea's move for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice could be over.

Rice, a former Blues academy player, has been hotly tipped to make a return to Stamford Bridge this summer with boss Frank Lampard a big admirer in the England interntional.

However, some members of the Chelsea board are not convinced by the player and are ready to block any move for him.

According to Mirror Online, Lampard will now turn his attentions elsewhere as he looks to strengthen his midfield options for the season ahead.

Inter and West Ham eye defender

Inter Milan and West Ham are said to be keen on Chelsea full-back Emerson Palmieri.

The Italian international was not in the Blues squad for last week's Premier League opener against Brighton, sparking speculation he could be on the move.

The Independent report Inter will 'renew talks' with Lampard's side over a move for the 25-year-old.

He has two years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge.

West Ham are also keeping tabs on the Italian but prefer a loan move rather than a permanent switch.

They have been left frustrated in their attempts to sign Burnley's James Tarkowski this summer.
