Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Edouard Mendy boost, Callum Hudson-Odoi wanted by European trio

Chelsea have just under a month left of this summer’s transfer window to add to what has already been a busy few weeks for the Blues.

Frank Lampard’s side have signed six new players, including some of Europe’s finest talents, as the club look to close the gap to Manchester City and Liverpool.

Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Malang Sarr and Thiago Silva have all been signed, and today’s rumours suggest that there could be even more business at Stamford Bridge.

With that being said, football.london takes a look at the very latest Chelsea-related transfer rumours.

Mendy latest

Our first rumour involves goalkeeper Eduoard Mendy, who is thought to be of interest to Chelsea.

The Rennes stopper looks likely to be the Blues’ next signing, with Lampard keen to provide competition for Kepa Arrizibalaga and Willy Cabellero.

According to L’Equipe, Rennes were initially asking for €40m and the loan of Olivier Giroud in return for Mendy’s services.

The report goes on to state that Chelsea have instead talked the Ligue 1 club down to just a €28m, with Giroud not included in that deal.

Hudson-Odoi interest

Blues youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi is once again being linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Last summer saw Bayern Munich express a strong desire to sign the talented forward, and now two more clubs have expressed an interest.

According to Sky Germany RB Leipzig and Juventus have joined Bayern in wanting to sign the 20-year-old ahead of next month’s deadline.

The report goes on to state that Leipzig and Juve have enquired about Hudson-Odoi’s availability, while Bayern still hold a strong interest in strengthening their wide forward options.

Ivanovic signs

Former Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has signed for Premier League new boys West Bromwich Albion.

Ivanovic left Stamford Bridge in 2017 to join Russian outfit Zenit St Petersburg, who left the club this summer as a free agent.

The 36-year-old has penned a one-year deal at The Hawthorns, and returns to the Premier League after a three-year absence.
