Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Dembele prefers Man United switch, mystery £75m bid disputed

Dembele prefers United switch

Frank Lampard has been dealt a blow in his pursuit of a new forward with rumoured target Moussa Dembele reportedly preferring a move to join Manchester United.

Dembele, who has scored 22 times in all competitions so far this campaign for Lyon, is likely to leave the Ligue Un side after the club missed out on Europe following the cancellation of the championship.

The Blues had been keen on bringing the former Celtic and Fulham star to Stamford Bridge, however, the Daily Star claim the player wants to move to Old Trafford instead.

United have also been tracking the 23-year-old and are set to launch a bid when the transfer window opens.

Blues determined to keep Webster

Chelsea are keen on keeping teen prospect Charlie Webster at the club, and are set to offer the player a professional contract next year.

The 16-year-old has caught the eye at Stamford Bridge, however, the Telegraph report that Borussia Dortmund are also monitoring his situation.

With Webster not able to commit to professional terms until his 17th birthday, the Bundesliga side will look to convince the midfielder to move to Germany instead.

Frank Lampard has promoted a number of Chelsea academy players to the first team and hopes Webster will follow that trend, however, Dortmund also have a great reputation for nurturing youth.

Osimhen bid exaggerated

Chelsea’s striker chase has also seen them linked with Lille forward Victor Osimhen with reports even suggesting the Blues were behind a mystery £75 million bid for the player.

However, those reports have been dismissed by French journalist Abdellah Boulma according to Sport Witness.

Boulma took to social media to claim that Chelsea have indeed made an offer for the Nigerian, but that the figure quoted was ‘incorrect and greatly overestimated’.

Osimhen scored 18 times in 38 appearances for Lille this season, finishing the season as the club’s top scorer after Ligue Un was suspended.
