Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Dembele development, Bellingham blow, full-back eyed

Frank Lampard’s first summer transfer window as Chelsea manager is fast approaching. And the Blues look set for a busy few months.

Goal scoring has been an issue throughout the season, so it is no surprise that Chelsea have their eye on a potential new forward.

Strengthening at full-back, too, remains a priority for Lampard. Here are the latest transfer rumours from Stamford Bridge.

Blues leading race for Dembele

Chelsea have the edge over Manchester United as both clubs look to secure the signing of Lyon striker Moussa Dembele.

That is according to the Daily Mirror, who report that the Blues have “first refusal on the Lyon forward”.

The 23-year-old is on United’s radar but, having reportedly come close to joining Chelsea in January, appears more likely to make the switch to Stamford Bridge.

Dembele, who has scored 22 goals in all competitions this season, will be allowed to leave in the summer despite Lyon’s reluctance to sell during the last transfer window.

And Chelsea, who are reportedly looking to get their transfers done early, could be the club best placed to take advantage.

Chelsea could miss out on Bellingham

Blues target Jude Bellingham is close to joining Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund, according to a report in Bild.

The 16-year-old is set to reject the advances of both Chelsea and Manchester United in favour of moving to Germany.

Bellingham, who has excelled in midfield for Birmingham this season, reportedly wants to join Dortmund in order to get more playing time.

He would be following in the footsteps of several other English youngsters, notably Jadon Sancho, who has emerged as one of Europe’s brightest talents since leaving Manchester City for the Westfalenstadion.

The enforced break in football could mean some difficulties in completing the transfer, though. Birmingham are expected to demand upwards of £35 million for the teenager, but Dortmund are still confident a deal will be done.

Chelsea have reportedly been in contact with Bellingham over the phone but are yet to speak with the player or his representatives in person.

Talks open with Real Madrid youngster

Chelsea are in negotiations with Real Madrid over the potential transfer of full-back Achraf Hakimi.

The Mirror have reported that an approach has been made to sign the 21-year-old as the summer window edges closer.

The Morocco international, who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Dortmund, is primarily a right-back, but can play as a left-back or winger too.

That versatility is likely part of the appeal for Lampard, who is looking for more options at full-back.

Dortmund are also interested in signing Hakimi on a permanent basis but do not have a compulsory purchase option in his loan deal.

He has scored three goals and provided ten assists in the Bundesliga this season. Real Madrid will reportedly wait until the campaign is completed before making a decision on his future.
