Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Declan Rice valuation revealed, duo consider January exits

Chelsea were the talk of the summer transfer window, racking up a total spend of more than £200million.

With the help of Marina Granovskaia, Frank Lampard has overhauled his squad with the signings of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, Edouard Mendy and Malang Sarr.

There have also been a number of Chelsea departures and there could yet be more with the domestic window still open until October 16.

Players can still depart for the Championship, League One and League Two before that date but higher profile exits will have to wait until January.

And there is already talk of transfers in the winter window.

With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer talk below.

The most impressive part of Chelsea's transfer window

Rice valuation revealed

West Ham United wanted £60million for midfield star Declan Rice during the summer window.

According to The Transfer Window Podcast, the fee the Hammers demanded was actually less than the £70million or £80million mooted.

However, it still proved too much for Chelsea who had already spent more than £200million.

“[There was] only one disappointment for Frank Lampard, and that was they did not manage to get Declan Rice from West Ham," said Ian McGarry on the podcast.

“It is our information that West Ham’s fee for Rice was in excess of £60m, which in the end, proved just too much for Chelsea right now, who have decided to postpone the pursuit of Rice, although they remain interested in the player."

Rudiger wanted Chelsea exit

Germany boss Joachim Low has revealed Antonio Rudiger 'tried everything' to leave Chelsea during the summer transfer window and will likely depart in January.

Rudiger was strongly linked with a move to AC Milan with Tottenham also said to be interested on transfer deadline day.

“I've been keeping an eye on things the last few days, what happened in the final hours [of the transfer window], how many changes there were at the last minute. I think a lot of players will get game time this season – 11 players can't get you through a whole season,” he said in a Germany press conference.

“I was in constant contact with Toni Rudiger, he was keeping me in the loop. He had three or four options over the weekend but unfortunately, nothing materialised – he can try again in the winter."

Duo to reassess future

As well as Antonio Rudiger, Fikayo Tomori will also reassess his future in January.

According to the Telegraph, the young centre-back will decide whether the does indeed want to move on loan for the back-end of the season.

Tomori was offered a loan move to West Ham in the dying hours of the transfer window but decided to reject the move in order to fight for his place under Frank Lampard.

Though, competition is rife with Rudiger also staying put, and if he does not manage to get regular game time, Tomori could yet opt to move on in January, much like his German defensive teammate.
