Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Coutinho offered as Sancho alternative, fresh Werner blow

Chelsea’s season may be on hold as the world battles the coronavirus crisis, but that has not stopped reports claiming they are looking ahead and planning their summer transfer business.

It remains to be seen when the transfer window will open this summer, as leagues and associations battle to conclude their current campaigns.

But managers, and their recruitment staff, are believed to be keeping busy in isolation by planning deals well in advance.

With that in mind, here are the latest transfer rumours from Chelsea.

Philippe Coutinho offered as Jadon Sancho alternative

Chelsea are considering a loan deal to sign Philippe Coutinho as an alternative to Jadon Sancho.

ESPN are claiming that the Blues are now convinced that Sancho looks destined for Manchester United this summer.

Sources have told ESPN that senior figures at Stamford Bridge believe United are winning the race to sign Sancho, and the club are now turning their attention to Coutinho.

And although Barcelona are believed to be more keen on a sale, another loan deal may be considered by the Spanish giants.

Werner 'says yes' to Liverpool move

Timo Werner has reportedly given Liverpool his word that he will make a summer move to Anfield.

According to a report from Bleacher Report, they claim the RB Leipzig striker has already agreed to join the Reds.

They add that Werner is desperate to play in the Premier League and the lure of Jurgen Klopp makes Liverpool his preferred destination.

Chelsea and other sides across had reportedly been chasing the forward’s signature this summer.

Chelsea target left in tears

Samuel Chukwueze, has revealed he cried throughout the night after the Blues were beaten by Manchester United in the 2008 Champions League final.

The 20-year-old has impressed since breaking into the Villarreal first-team last season and has struck eight goals in 52 matches.

Chukwueze has previously been linked with Liverpool and Manchester City as well as Chelsea, and has now admitted he was a boyhood Blues supporter.

“My favourite team in England is Chelsea. I was supporting Chelsea when I was young,” the Nigeria international explained during an Instagram Live.

“When Chelsea lost that Champions League final against Manchester United, I was crying all through the night.”
