Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Coutinho battle, Burki to replace Kepa, £22.4m Tagliafico deal

The summer transfer window is set to see much less spent in terms of transfer fees, but some clubs are still preparing for the next campaign.

Chelsea are one of those clubs, as Frank Lampard looks to bolster his squad for his second season in charge at Stamford Bridge.

With a couple of key players like Willian and Pedro – who are both out of contract – set to leave the club once the season ends, Lampard may have to look elsewhere to replace the experienced duo.

Chelsea Q&A with Oliver Harbord

With that being said, here are the best Chelsea transfer rumours from today.

Blues eye move for Burki

Chelsea are preparing a £15m move for Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Burki, according to the Sun.

Kepa Arrizabalaga has had a mixed season in goal for Lampard’s side and the Blues are reportedly set to replace the Spaniard.

Burki is set to be available for just £15m, with the Swiss ‘keeper only having one year left on his contract at Signal Iduna Park.

Roman Burki has been linked with a move to Chelsea (2020 Borussia Dortmund)

If the Blues can get Burki for so cheap, they may look to get rid of Kepa, who arrived at Stamford Bridge as the club’s record-signing at £71.6m.

Tagliafico could join Chelsea for £22.4m

Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico could sign for Chelsea for just £22.4m in the summer transfer window, report The Telegraph.

The report suggests Lampard is keen to bring a new left-back into his squad, and has eyed a move for Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell.

However, the Blues could be priced out of a move for the England defender and look at the Argentine Tagliafico instead.

Chelsea have been made aware of the £22.4m Ajax demand for the 27-year-old, who wishes to move to England.

Blues in battle for Coutinho

Coutinho has spent this season on loan at Bayern Munich, and despite impressing at the Allianz, the Brazil star has been deemed too expensive for the Bundesliga champions.

Barcelona are asking for €100m for the ex-Liverpool playmaker, and Chelsea are amongst the clubs keen on signing him.

However, Mundo Deportivo are reporting Coutinho believes Mikel Arteta’s style of play at Arsenal would suit him the best out of all the options.
