Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Coutinho approach, Inter Milan to fund Kante deal, Silva update

Chelsea's busy summer transfer window continues at pace.

The Blues are close to agreeing deals for numerous players as Frank Lampard looks to overhaul his squad ahead of next season.

With that in mind, here is the latest Chelsea transfer gossip.

The English clubs that can afford Lionel Messi

Coutinho approach

Marca report that Chelsea have enquired about Philippe Coutinho's situation at Barcelona.

The Brazilian attacker's future at the Nou Camp looks uncertain as he returns from a hit-and-miss loan spell at Bayern Munich that ended with a Champions League final victory over PSG.

Whilst Coutinho is said to be keen to return to the Premier League, new Barca boss Ronald Koeman is reportedly open to keeping the player.

The duo are set to discuss Coutinho's future plans before coming to a decision over how to proceed next season.

It is reported that the Blues, along with Manchester United and Arsenal, have all made enquiries about Coutinho's availability at Barcelona.

Inter finance Kante deal

Inter Milan are open to offers for three players in an attempt to finance a deal for N'Golo Kante.

Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is desperate for a reunion with Kante at the San Siro and has made the midfielder his number one priority this summer.

Yet the French World Cup winner will not come cheaply, and Gazzetta dello Sport report that one of Marcelo Brozovic, Milan Skriniar and Lautaro Martinez could be sold by Inter in order to finance a deal.

Silva medical

The Athletic's David Ornstein says Thiago Silva will undergo a medical at Chelsea on Thursday.

Brazilian defender Silva is set to move to the Blues on a free transfer after his exit from PSG, with personal terms over the deal already being agreed.

Silva will sign a one-year deal with the option of a further year that can be triggered by either party.

He is expected to become a dressing room leader in Frank Lampard's squad.
