Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Blues lead Federico Bernardeschi race, two-way N'didi battle

It could prove to be a busy summer for Frank Lampard and Chelsea, with the Premier League set to make its return next month.

A date of June 17 has been set for the action to restart, which could see the summer transfer window clash with the end of the campaign.

That means the Blues may have to do their business while they look to hold onto their spot in the top four, and there could be plenty of ins and outs.

Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming out of Stamford Bridge.

Football is back – but how will it work?

Blues leading Bernardeschi race

Federico Bernardeschi is reportedly eyeing a move to the Premier League this summer with Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal all monitoring the situation.

The Juventus star has struggled for game time under Maurizio Sarri this season and, as a result, is looking for a move to England.

Gazzetta dello Sport claim the winger will want a move to the Premier League if his situation under Sarri at Juventus fails to change.

Chelsea, in particular, have been identified as a potential destination for the versatile attacker, with Blues boss Frank Lampard looking to overhaul his squad this summer.

Chukwueze eyed as Sancho alternative

Chelsea are considering Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze as an alternative to Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, Goal report.

The Blues are considering the 20-year-old England international as a prime target for the next transfer window but a £90m price-tag could prove to be problematic, particularly in the current economic climate.

Therefore, should a move not materialise, Chelsea have set their sights on Villarreal's 21-year-old Nigeria international Chukwueze, who has previously been linked with Liverpool.

Although he is under contract at the Spanish side until 2023, he represents a much cheaper option than Sancho and could be available for around £45million according to the report.

Chelsea rival Real Madrid for Ndidi

Chelsea are looking to rival Real Madrid for the services of Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, according to Mundo Deportivo via Leicester Live.

The Nigeria international arrived at the King Power Stadium as a successor for N'Golo Kante in the heart of midfield, following his move to Stamford Bridge.

His performances have attracted a wealth of attention and it's now suggested that Chelsea will try to persuade Ndidi to follow in Kante's footsteps by moving to West London.

The comparisons with Kante do not stop there either, as it's suggested that Real Madrid are eyeing his services as an alternative to the World Cup winner.
