Chelsea will be looking to register their third Premier League win of the season when they travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United this evening.
After spending more than £200million over the course of the summer transfer window on the likes of Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner, the Blues have had an indifferent start to the season.
Whilst they have recorded impressive victories against both Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace, respectively, they have also played out frustrating 3-3 draws with both Southampton and West Bromwich Albion.
Though it has been an indifferent start to the campaign, Chelsea's potential is exciting, with head coach Frank Lampard having been fortunate enough to add a wealth of talent to his squad over the summer.
And with just over two months to go until the January window opens for business, Chelsea are already beginning to dominate the gossip columns once again. With that in mind, here is a round-up of the very latest Chelsea transfer rumours.
Italian duo eye Blues outcast
Whilst Chelsea were busy on adding players to their squad over the summer, they were not so busy when it came to offloading stars that no longer figure as key components within Lampard's plans.
One of those was left-back Emerson Palmieri, who has slipped to third in the pecking order for when it comes to starting at left-back for the Blues, behind both Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso.
Emerson was heavily linked with a move back to his native Italy over the summer and reports of a return to his homeland have started to escalate once more.
According to the Daily Express, both AC Milan and Juventus are interested in signing the 26-year-old on loan. Should a deal be reached with Chelsea, it is highly likely that the Blues would be open to letting him go due to the strength in depth they have at left-back.
Chelsea target Bundesliga ace
Chelsea are ready to rival Manchester United and Bayern Munich for the signature of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria.
That is according to highly-respected German football journalist Christian Falk, who claims both Chelsea and United are ready to rival current Champions League holders Bayern for his services.
Switzerland international Zakaria is considered as one of the very best defensive-midfield players in the Bundesliga and is not short on steel and strength, which would significantly bolster Lampard's options.
Should Chelsea make an official move for the 23-year-old it would probably not come as a great surprise to anyone, with the club having been heavily linked with England international Declan Rice throughout the summer.
Rice blow
Speaking of Rice, West Ham United are ready ready to offer the 21-year-old midfielder a bumper new contract in a bid to fend off interest from the Blues.
Chelsea were regularly linked with the midfield ace throughout the window but, in the end, were put off by the Hammers' valuation of the player.
Now, in an effort to fend off yet more interest from their London rivals, West Ham want to offer him the chance to put pen to paper on a new big-money deal in east London, the Daily Express claims.
Had Rice had made the move to Chelsea over the summer, there was talk of him being converted into a centre-back by Lampard, with the Blues head coach having frozen-out Antonio Rudiger.
