Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Blues get potential Sancho boost, Conte eyes Alonso reunion

The latest Chelsea transfer gossip round-up for Sunday, April 5.

Fresh hope on Hakimi signing

Chelsea’s pursuit for full-back reinforcements looks to have taken a positive turn after comments made about target Achraf Hakimi.

The full-back’s agent stated that talks of a new contract at Real Madrid have “no basis” with his current deal set to run until 2022, according to Daily Star reports.

Such comments from his agent suggest that Hakimi’s permanent future could be in doubt which may give Frank Lampard a degree of hope in being able to forge a deal. The 21-year-old has been mightily impressive on loan at Borussia Dortmund this season and would add significant depth to Chelsea’s squad.

While comments made by the player’s agent appear encouraging, Chelsea will be acutely aware that this deal will take some time to get over the line.

Alonso and Emerson wanted by Inter

Inter Milan’s spending looks set to continue in the upcoming transfer window with Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri targeted by the Serie A giants.

With Alonso nearing 30 and Emerson appearing just 18 times this season, a double swoop for the duo could free up space for Lampard to make signings of his own.

Far from irreplaceable figures in Chelsea’s current set up, a favourable price for the duo would allow Lampard to find more preferred full-back options this summer.

Sancho alternatives for Chelsea

Borussia Dortmund’s £100m plus valuation of 20-year-old Jadon Sancho could lead to Chelsea winning the race ahead of Manchester United.

According to reports, the Red Devils could turn their attention elsewhere to the likes of Wilfried Zaha and Memphis Depay.

Both attacking options would be considerably cheaper than the price quoted for Sancho.

This isn’t the first time both clubs have clashed over potential signings this window and it looks set to carry on again.
