Here are your Chelsea transfer rumours for Wednesday, May 13.
Chelsea confident of Angel Gomes signing
Manchester United starlet Angel Gomes has already rejected a £30,000-per-week deal to stay at Old Trafford.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had hoped he would follow in the footsteps of Tahith Chong and commit his professional future to the club, but now the 19-year-old could be set to leave as his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Mirror reports that Frank Lampard is keen to continue his youth revolution at Chelsea, with signing Gomes on a free transfer in the summer seen as a way to add to the young talent already at the club.
Gomes captained England’s Under-19s to World Cup glory in 2018 but is said to be frustrated by a lack of first-team football under Solskjaer. He has made just six appearances this season.
Werner swoop on the cards
Liverpool lead Chelsea in the race to sign RB Leipzig attacker Timo Werner this summer.
The German has been a target of the Reds for some time with his 21 Bundesliga goals illustrating just how prolific he can be. Only Robert Lewandowksi has scored more this season.
However, 90min report that Chelsea are keeping a close eye on Liverpool’s pursuit of Werner and are ready to swoop, should a deal fall through.
Werner still has a £52million clause, despite reports suggesting that it had expired. But Liverpool have asked for more time to make a decision, which is only complicated by the current crisis.
Chelsea, meanwhile, had interest in Werner in January and although they are considering other options amid the possibility that Werner makes the Anfield switch, they remain hopeful that they can steal Werner away from Jurgen Klopp.
English clubs ‘knocking at the door’ for Chiesa
Italian winger Federico Chiesa has interest from a number of English clubs, according to Fiorentina CEO Joe Barone.
The 22-year-old has seven goals and three assists in 26 appearances this season, leading him to be linked with a move to both Chelsea and Manchester United this summer. And Barone concedes that English clubs are "knocking at the door."
“Chiesa is a Fiorentina player,” Barone told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “There are clubs knocking at the door for Chiesa, some of them who speak English… We’ll see.
"For the moment, we just need to finish the season and he is very concentrated on doing well for us."
Whether Chiesa does make the switch to the Premier League remains to be seen, but he could be a cheaper alternative to Jadon Sancho should Chelsea and others want a more frugal alternative to the Borussia Dortmund winger.
