Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Bellingham dilemma, Cucurella targeted, Dembele update

Coronavirus has taken hold of the Premier League schedule – but clubs continue to target players ahead of the 2020/2021 season.

Having been forced to undergo a transfer ban last summer, Chelsea were surprisingly inactive during the January window.

However, much like their rivals at the top end of the division, the Blues continue to be linked with several names.

As things stand, no elite matches will be played until April 3 at the very earliest – due to the COVID-19 outbreak – and the pandemic could yet cause further disruption.

But while on-field action has ground to a halt, for now, there is plenty to get football fans talking off-field.

Coronavirus: What events have been cancelled?

Here are the very latest Chelsea transfer rumours.

Dilemma for Birmingham City wonderkid

Birmingham City midfielder Jude Bellingham has the world at his feet and has a big decision to make regarding his future.

According to The Sun, Chelsea are one of four clubs to have matched the £30million price tag for the 16-year-old, who has scored four goals in 32 games for the Championship side this season.

However, the Blues could face stiff competition from the likes of Manchester United and Bayern Munich, whose German rivals Borussia Dortmund are also interested.

Bellingham now has to pick between those four European giants as he looks certain to leave St Andrews in the summer.

Barcelona back-up to Chilwell pursuit

Marc Cucurella is climbing the list of alternative options should Chelsea fail to sign England defender Ben Chilwell, according to the Metro.

Having progressed through the famed La Masia academy, at Barcelona, the left-back is now a Getafe player after his former loan club exercised a clause in his contract.

However, despite that deal going ahead, it’s thought that Chelsea – or other possible suitors – could still prize the 21-year-old away this summer.

According to Goal, the Blues are also tracking Alex Telles from Porto.

Dembele on radar after Werner defeat

According to The Athletic, Chelsea are set to accept defeat in the race to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

Several top European clubs have had the German on their radar for some time, but reigning Champions League holders Liverpool are thought to be closing in on his signature.

Instead, head coach Frank Lampard could turn his attentions to France as he looks to Lyon striker Moussa Dembele as an alternative.

Formerly of Celtic and Fulham, Dembele has scored 31 goals in 45 league starts for the Ligue 1 side.
