Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Antonio Conte eyes full-back reunion, Davide Zappacosta update

Chelsea Champions League hopes suffered a huge set-back on Tuesday night after they were beaten by Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

Away from the pitch, the club has never been far away from transfer speculation and that is already the case ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Blues have already secured the services of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax for next season, with plenty of other big names linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

With that in mind, here is a round-up of the day's very latest Chelsea transfer news.

Alonso on Inter’s wishlist

Marcos Alonso is Antonio Conte’s ‘preferred’ target to fill the full-back void at Inter Milan this summer.

Milan have been continually linked with the 29-year-old and two days ago, the left-back’s father revealed his son “loves Italy” following his spell with Fiorentina four-years ago.

According to FcInterNews , the Nerazzurri will look to strengthen the fullback position in the summer with Alonso top of their wish list.

Conte eyes reunion

While Tuttosport, via the Mail , claims Conte wants to sign one of Alonso or Emerson Palmieri in the summer.

Ashley Young was signed in January on a permanent basis from Manchester United to bolster the defence, while Cristiano Biraghi and Victor Moses were brought in on loan.

But Biraghi and Moses are expected to return to their parent clubs, while Asamoah's future is uncertain leaving Conte short of full-backs.

Zappacosta Injury update

Davide Zappacosta is nearing a return for loan club AS Roma after picking up a serious knee injury at the start of the season.

Zappacosta ruptured his knee ligament back in August and has been on the sidelines ever since.

But according to a report in Corriere dello Sport , Zappacosta is continuing his rehabilitation, and the medical checks have been ‘very positive’ and could return after the international break.
