Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Andre Onana and Nicolas Tagliafico boosts, Blues eye Upamecano

Chelsea look set for a busy summer both on and off the pitch as they continue to develop under Frank Lampard.

The Blues are well set to secure Champions League football for next season, and booked their place in the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday with victory over Leicester.

And of course, they’ve been keeping themselves busy on the transfer front, with Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner on the way to Stamford Bridge next month, while plenty more are expected to join them.

Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming out of Stamford Bridge.

The impact Frank Lampard had on Chelsea vs Leicester

Onana and Tagliafico boosts

Erik ten Hag has boosted Chelsea’s hopes of signing Nicolas Tagliafico and Andre Onana by suggesting the pair could leave Ajax this summer.

The blues have already raided the Dutch giants this year, with Ziyech set to arrive at Stamford Bridge soon.

And Onana and Tagliafico could well join them, with ten Hag confirming arrangements have been made should they wish to move elsewhere.

“Agreements have been made with Andre Onana, Donny van de Beek and Nicolas Tagliafico, but it remains to be seen whether the market is indeed breaking loose,” Ten Hag told Het Parool.

Blues join Upamecano race

Chelsea have joined Arsenal and AC Milan in the race to sign RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano, according to reports.

Upamecano has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer, and has also drawn interest from the likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Tottenham.

But Frank Lampard’s side have reportedly now joined the race as they look to beat their London rivals to the defender’s signature.

Upamecano’s contract at Leipzig is set to expire next summer, with clubs keeping a watchful eye on things in Germany.

Bakayoko to Milan a ‘possibility’

AC Milan could be Tiemoue Bakayoko’s next destination, with the midfielder targeting a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

The 25-year-old has spent the season on loan at AS Monaco following a tough first year in the Premier League, with the Ligue 1 side having the opportunity to turn the move into a permanent one.

They decided against that though, and now Bakayoko and the Blues need to find another solution.

Milan could be an option, with Le10Sport reporting a move to Italy is a ‘strong possibility’ and that Bakayoko is ‘tempted’ by it.
