Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: £120m Jadon Sancho development, Fedor Chalov battle

Chelsea have shown plenty of promise in Frank Lampard's first season in charge at Stamford Bridge but their campaign has been halted by the coronavirus outbreak.

When football returns, the Blues will face a battle to secure Champions League football next season and will also continue their push for glory in the FA Cup.

While the sporting world has been halted, that is certainly not the case for transfer rumours and plenty of speculation continues to float around ahead of the transfer window.

Here, we have gathered some of the latest snippets surrounding the Blues.

The state of play at Chelsea and the goalkeeper situation

£120m Jadon Sancho development

Chelsea are prepared to match Borussia Dortmund's mammoth £120m asking price for England international Jadon Sancho, the Evening Standard reports.

The Blues are among a host of clubs that are keen to sign the 19-year-old in the summer transfer window and Dortmund are asking for a hefty figure for his services.

However, Chelsea have money to spend following the sale of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid last summer and have not made a signing in the last two windows, although a deal has been secured to bring Hakim Ziyech to the club from Ajax.

Lampard's side will still face competition in the market for Sancho's services though, with Manchester United and Liverpool among the other clubs attributed with an interest in his signature.

Fedor Chalov battle

Chelsea's quest to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window is set to see them go toe-to-toe with Crystal Palace and West Ham in the market, the Daily Star states.

21-year-old Russia international Fedor Chalov has caught the attention of the London trio and the Blues are among the clubs who want to sign the highly-rated forward.

Palace failed with a £14m swoop for the CSKA Moscow forward last summer but could reignite their interest at the end of the campaign, while West Ham could also move.

Chelsea are said to see Chalov as a more affordable option than Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez and Lyon's Moussa Dembele, both of whom have been linked.

Musso given £74m price-tag

Chelsea will have to part ways with a significant sum if they are to bring Udinese keeper Juan Musso to Stamford Bridge as a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Speaking to CalcioMercato, the agent of the on-loan AC Milan talent has suggested that a figure of around £74m would be required to secure his services.

“It is obvious that Juan will be the goalkeeper of a great European in the near future.

“The value on the market is something so relative. If Kepa cost Chelsea €80m (£74m), Courtois more or less the same amount and Donnarumma is €100m (£92m), how much is Juan Musso worth?”
