Latest Chelsea transfer news: Tammy Abraham latest, Erling Haaland provides Jadon Sancho boost

Chelsea have endured a mixed bag of results over the last few weeks, meaning there is work ahead for Frank Lampard, as he looks to steer the Blues to another top-four finish.

While he has got the best out of a young squad so far, the opportunity for Lampard to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window has emerged and is likely to be utilised.

A number of arrivals and departures are touted during the mid-season window and there is already plenty of rumours floating around, so we've gathered the latest for you below.

New deal for Abraham

Tammy Abraham is believed to be inching closer to penning a new contract at Chelsea.

Following a loan spell with Aston Villa in the Championship last season, the forward returned to the club in the summer, and after a transfer embargo prevented Chelsea from adding to the club’s options up top, Abraham was handed his chance to impress.

And now Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, cited on 101greatgoals , believes that a ‘new contract is coming’ for Abraham at Stamford Bridge.

Haaland deal could mean Sancho boost

Borussia Dortmund could now be set to cash in on Jadon Sancho after securing Erling Haaland.

Dortmund, who confirmed the capture of  Haaland for a relative snip at £17.1m on Sunday afternoon, beat United and Juventus to the forward’s signature.

Conte eyes Chelsea pair

Antonio Conte is keen on securing Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri from Chelsea next month.

According to The Sun, cited on caughtoffside , Inter are keen on a loan move for Alonso, with the Italian giants expected to pay a £2m loan fee for the 29-year-old.

While Emerson has struggled to secure regular first team football and has fallen down the pecking order under Lampard’s stewardship.
