Chelsea may have finished fourth in the Premier League but defeats to Arsenal and Bayern Munich in the FA Cup and Champions League respectively show there is some way to go.
Those improvements could be made during the summer transfer window, with the Blues having already signed Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.
Kai Havertz is the next on the agenda but Frank Lampard is eyeing up more than just the Bayern Leverkusen midfielder.
Here is the latest round-up of transfer gossip on Chelsea.
Havertz demand
Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller has sent a warning to Chelsea over their pursuit of Kai Havertz.
The German club insists they will not accept anything less than their £90 million asking price for the midfielder, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 21-year-old is still expected to eventually sign for Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
Chelsea eye up bid for Stones
Chelsea are eyeing a £20million move for Manchester City defender John Stones.
The centre-back has failed to deliver at City since signing from Everton back in 2016.
City are now willing to take a loss on the defender they paid £50 million for and Frank Lampard's men are ready to pounce, according to Mirror Sport.
Chelsea join White race
Chelsea have joined the race to sign former Leeds United loanee Ben White, according to the Daily Star.
Leeds are eager to sign White on a permanent deal after he starred on loan at Elland Road last term.
But a £22million offer from Leeds has been rejected by Brighton for the 22-year-old centre-back.
Liverpool have always been in the mix for the defender but now Chelsea are planning to hijack both the Reds and Leeds to try and sign White and sell Antonio Rudiger in the process.
