Latest Chelsea transfer news: £25m Oblak and Kepa swap deal, Sancho setback, Werner update

Chelsea are well on course to secure Champions League football next season after overcoming Tottenham at the weekend.

Off the pitch, the club has never been far away from transfer speculation and that is already the case ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Blues have already secured the services of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax for next season, with plenty of other big names linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

With that in mind, here is a round-up of the day's very latest Chelsea transfer news.

Kepa out, Oblak in

Spanish TV channel El Chiringuito TV claim that Chelsea have made an offer to Atletico Madrid of €30million plus Kepa Arrizabalaga, in exchange for their keeper Jan Oblak.

Blues boss Frank Lampard has opted to start backup goalkeeper Willy Caballero ahead of Kepa in the last three matches, suggesting he is unhappy with the Spaniard.

Oblak is widely considered as one of the best goalkeepers in the game currently, but still has three years remaining on his contract at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

Sancho set-back

Chelsea have suffered a set-back in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho after Ruhr Nachrichten claimed the winger has not yet decided if he actually wants to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.

Manchester United and Liverpool have also been reportedly keeping tabs on the 19-year-old, with reports long suggesting that he was keen to leave the Westfalenstadion at the end of the season.

But the report, via talkSPORT , claims that Sancho, who is contracted until summer 2022, may stick around for a further six months and only leave Dortmund in January 2021.

Werner plays down transfer talk

Timo Werner has played down talks of a transfer for now amid reported interest in the RB Leipzig star from Liverpool and Chelsea.

The 23-year-old is said to be on the shortlist for a number of clubs in the summer transfer window, including Spanish giants Real Madrid.

But the striker has moved to play down talk of a transfer, insisting that he needs to focus on his game to make sure he improves.

"It's hard to think about where you'll play next year if you want to step on the gas here and now,” he told Welt.
