Latest Chelsea injury news: Frank Lampard sweating on fitness of midfielder for Watford visit

After the disappointment of Wednesday night's defeat 3-2 away to West Ham United, Frank Lampard's squad must dust themselves off and go again with Watford visiting Stamford Bridge on Saturday night.

With Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester United in good form since the restart, the 8pm kick-off is close to a must-win for the Blues if they are to finish top four.

Fortunately for Lampard, he has only one new injury worry but that is not understood to be serious.

Mateo Kovacic

The Croatian came off early in the second half at the London Stadium with an undiagnosed knock but Lampard did not provide an update at full-time.

Lampard will offer more clarity in his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.

Fikayo Tomori

The England centre back has not featured since the restart because of a muscle injury but had been given a chance of making the squad on Wednesday.

Another three days to get ready may see him be part of the bench against Nigel Pearson's team but he will not start.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Fit again after being named on the bench against West Ham but the teenager is lacking in match fitness so will be a substitute once more.

Marco Van Ginkel

Dutch midfielder not part of the plans but is fit after two years out with a knee injury and doing some training alone.

What about Watford?

The visitors will be without at least three players as Isaac Success is out with a ruptured achilles and Gerard Deulofeu and Daryl Janmaat have knee isues
