Latest Chelsea injury news as four miss Wolves with Thiago Silva update and Frank Lampard plan

Frank Lampard will be working with a nearly fully fit Chelsea side as he prepares to manage his first game in caretaker charge against Wolves on Saturday.

The club's all-time top scorer was unveiled as the interim head coach on Thursday after watching on from the stands for Bruno Saltor's only game in the temporary position. With a squad that includes several players Lampard has already failed with, his team selection is one of the big stories to watch out for.

Alongside Thiago Silva, who will miss this game with injury having not yet recovered from the damage to his knee caused in the 2-0 loss to Tottenham in February, Lampard was in charge when Chelsea signed Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and gave Christian Pulisic his debut.

He will have all of those four fit for the game at Molineux. The latest to come from Chelsea regarding their squad's fitness was from Bruno ahead of the Liverpool clash. "All fit [aside from outside of Cesar Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva], just Bettinelli is doing some recovery but the rest are fit," he said.

That includes the availability of N'Golo Kante, who started against Liverpool in midweek, having come off the bench at the weekend before that. Elsewhere Edouard Mendy also returned to the squad having not played since the 2-1 Champions League win over Dinamo Zagreb in November.

On his choices for the squad, Lampard said: "I've been thinking about it a lot this morning, speaking to people who are going to be helping me to do this job so I have my idea about where I want to go. I watched the team, so credit to Bruno who took the team, credit to Graham Potter who I don't know that well but everything I see about him.

"He's a good man and a very good coach and sometimes for whatever reason things don't align, don't work, whatever, I've been in that situation personally. There's nothing that I will do that will look backwards other than with a view to how we move forward. I obviously have my own ideas."

The only other long-term absentee is Armando Broja, he won't play again this season.
