Latest Championship transfer rumours: Leeds target Arsenal goalkeeper, Stoke want Hibs star

After over three months of waiting, the Championship sprung back into life this weekend, as the division resumed behind closed doors.

After some Premier League clubs experienced the 'new normal' for the first time during midweek, it was the turn of the Championship clubs on Saturday, with 22 of the 24 clubs in action - and there was no shortage of goals and late drama.

Whilst the likes of Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion slipped up in their quest to tighten their grip on the top-two, the likes of Wigan Athletic and Charlton Athletic recorded vital wins at the other end of the table.

Though football is finally back, transfer rumours are continuing to mount ahead of the next transfer window opening for business.

With that in mind, here is a round-up of the day's very latest Championship rumours.

Stoke eye Hibs star

Stoke City are being tipped to make a move for Hibernian winger Martin Boyle.

According to The Sun, the Potters are lining up a £1m bid for the Australian who could be available for the right price this summer.

Boyle is out of contract in 2021 and yet to agree on a new contract, Hibs will be reluctant to lose him for nothing next year.

The four-time Australia international has been with Hibernian since 2015.

Leeds eye Arsenal keeper

Leeds could make a move for Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

That's according to The Athletic, who are the latest to link the 27-year-old with a move to Elland Road, saying the Gunners stopper could be brought in as a new option with doubts over current starter Kiko Casilla.

Martinez has been at Arsenal since 2010 when he joined as a youngster, but he has only made seven league appearances to date.

During that time, the Argentine has completed six loan spells, the most recent with Reading last year when he made 18 league outings.

Boro linked with former Sunderland man

Former Sunderland star Duncan Watmore has been touted for a move to Middlesbrough.

Watmore has left Sunderland after seven years with his contract coming to an end this summer.

And Championship strugglers - and indeed North East locals - Middlesbrough are now being linked with a move by The Sun's Alan Nixon.

Watmore made 71 league appearances during his seven years at the Stadium of Light.
