Latest Championship transfer rumours: Leeds eye Spurs defender, Forest want Croatian star

The 2019/20 Championship season is now just days away from returning, with all 24 teams having nine games remaining of the campaign.

Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion occupy the two automatic promotion places, with Hull City, Charlton Athletic, Luton Town and Barnsley in the bottom four.

Wherever these sides are playing their football next season, they will be starting to look at how they can add to their squad.

With that being said, here are the very latest Championship transfer rumours.

Foyth expected to join Leeds

Leeds are expected to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth on a loan deal, according to Argentine journalist Nicolas Bozza.

Foyth has only played twice under Spurs’ new boss Jose Mourinho and is expected to leave the club in the summer.

According to Bozza, who works for Argentina radio station, Radio La Red, has claimed the Spurs defender will be a “reinforcement” for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

The tweet translates to: “The former football of #EDLP Juan Foyth will be a reinforcement of Leeds United. The centre back of the Argentina National Team will play in the Bielsa team. He has loaned him for a season.”

Striker expected to sign for Athens after Birmingham deal collapsed

Former Wolves striker Bright Enobakhare is set to join Greek side AEK Athens, according to reports, just a few months after rejecting a move to Birmingham City.

Enobakhare left Molineux in May after the Premier League side refused to offer him a new contract.

The Nigerian striker was a target for the Blues in the January window, but he rejected a number of offers on deadline day.

However, Athens are now expected to sign the 22-year-old on a three-year deal, according to Sportime.

Forest interested in free transfer

Nottingham Forest hold an interest in Croatian goalkeeper Danijel Subasic this summer, according to Sport24.

The Greek outlet are reporting Forest and Olympiacos are both keen on the experienced goalkeeper, who is now available on a free transfer.

Subasic spent the season at AS Monaco, but didn’t extend his contract after the Ligue 1 season came to a premature end.

The 35-year-old was at Monaco for over seven years after joining from Hajduk Split in 2012.
