Latest Championship rumours - former Leeds United man in demand, Dortmund eye youngster

The Championship season looks to be heading towards a thrilling conclusion, with things all to play for.

But thoughts are also turning to the upcoming transfer window, and with the deadline being extended back to September 2nd, clubs will have extra time to get any deals over the line.

And despite the winter window only just closing, clubs in the top-flight are already seeking new talent to improve their squads for the 2020/21 campaign.

With that in mind, here are today’s transfer rumours from around the Championship.

Dortmund 'win race' for Bellingham

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly ‘won the race’ to sign rumoured Liverpool target Jude Bellingham.

The Birmingham City teenager has been linked with a host of clubs including the Reds, Man United and Chelsea in recent weeks.

But SportBild, as cited by Sport Witness, have claimed the Bundesliga outfit are set to sign the teenage midfielder this summer.

The report also suggests Dortmund will pay €35m to acquire Bellingham, which would make the youngster their most expensive signing in history.

West Ham 'watching' Watkins

West Ham are reportedly watching Brentford forward Ollie Watkins' with a view to a summer move for the striker.

The 24-year-old is enjoying an exceptional season as the Bees mount a bid for Premier League promotion, with 22 goals in 35 Championship matches.

And according to The Sun, the Hammers considered making a move for him during the January transfer window but Brentford were unwilling to sell, but are now monitoring him ahead of another bid this summer.

Wednesday eye former Leeds man

Sheffield Wednesday have set their sights on ex-Leeds United midfielder Madger Gomes.

The 23-year-old has impressed for League One promotion-chasing Doncaster Rovers this season, and is attracting the interest of the Hillsborough club.

A Wednesday source has told Football Insider that the club have sent scouts to regularly watch Gomes this season and have been impressed by his performances.
