Latest Championship prediction provides good news for Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest will still have ambitions of securing despite their recent run of results.

The Reds are without a win in their last five matches, and have suffered defeats in three of those including being on the receiving end of a 2-1 scoreline against Huddersfield Town at the weekend.

Defeats to Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City, combined with draws with Millwall and Middlesbrough, have seen Sabri Lamouchi’s side fall to 10 place in the Sky Bet Championship table.

Forest’s last win came against Queens Park Rangers at the end of last month, with the Reds winning 4-0 during their trip to Loftus Road.

Despite the lack of victories and falling down the table, Forest are still being backed to finish in the play-offs by one prediction website.

Football Web Pages have crunched the numbers and predict Forest to finish in sixth place in the final league standings this season.

The Reds are being tipped to accumulate 71 points from their 46 matches and finish two points clear of Fulham in the final play-off spot.

West Bromwich Albion are predicted to be champions, while Leeds United are the other side tipped to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League.

The other three sides making up the rest of the play-off spots are Sheffield Wednesday, Brentford and Preston North End, with Forest expected to face the Owls in the semi-final.

Lamouchi’s side have currently picked up 34 points from their 22 games, and are tipped to rack up a further 37 from their remaining 24 fixtures.
