Former Newport County manager Mike Flynn is now the red-hot favourite for the vacant Cardiff City job.
The Bluebirds have been linked with a host of candidates in the past week after parting company with Mick McCarthy eight days ago.
Former Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder, ex-Chelsea coach Jody Morris and Rangers man Michael Beale have all headed the bookies' favourite list at various points since McCarthy's departure, with Flynn emerging as the leading candidate on Friday.
He is now priced 1/2 with Sky Bet, with Morris at 9/2 and Wilder (8/1) coming back into the reckoning after drifting following reports his appointment would be unlikely.
Beale is placed next at 9/1, with Rangers boss Steve Gerrard this week revealing he wouldn't be surprised if Cardiff and other teams were sniffing around the former Liverpool and Chelsea coach.

Caretaker boss Steve Morison is next in the running at 10/1, who once again addressed links to the permanent position after Saturday's 3-3 draw with Stoke City.
"It’s not my decision ultimately," he said when asked about his potential interest in the job.
"You have a plan in life to be prepared for anything and I have always done that.
"All I am worried about now is doing this press conference, going to have some food on the coach, driving back and having a day off [on Sunday], because it’s been a pretty busy week.
"I am not worrying about anything else other than that. If I get a phone call on the way home to talk about anything then I’ll have that conversation.
"But at the moment it’s not something I have to worry about. The next job is to watch the under-23s play Swansea on Monday night and hopefully keep that run going as well."
