Latest buyout deal for Convergence Group

A communication firm has completed its latest acquisition.

Shirley-based Convergence Group, which specialises in telecoms for businesses, health authorities and retailers, has acquired AIT in an undisclosed deal.

The Reading-based company provides services that support enterprise networks, with a focus on wireless, cyber threat detection and data centre infrastructure.

Convergence, which was founded in 2004, said the buyout would boost its revenue by ten per cent and add 250 new customers to its customer base including in sectors such as higher education, public services and financial sectors.

Managing director Danny Masters said: "We are delighted to announce the acquisition of AIT, a like-minded business with a track record of best-in-class service and dedication to its customers.

"The announcement represents our continued commitment to expanding our business offering and driving forward Convergence Group's growth strategy in the UK."

AIT's managing director Steven Bailey added: "We are very excited about joining Convergence Group and the opportunities it provides for our team, our customers and our suppliers to continue our journey together, making networks easier to use and manage and our company a great place to work."

This is the latest deal by Convergence which acquired Oxfordshire network services supplier LAN3 in July and Suffolk-based connectivity supplier LinchPin in September.
