Latest Brentford injury news ahead of Premier League encounter with Everton

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has delivered a fitness update on his first-team squad ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Everton.

Rafa Benitez's side head into this fixture on a run of six games without a win and will be tasked with securing three points with a number of key players.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison will both be unavailable in attack, though there could be a return for midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Brentford are facing injury issues of their own, though the Bees will see certain members of their squad make a return.

Frank's side are set to be without first-choice goalkeeper David Raya (knee), defensive trio Mathias Jorgensen (muscle), Julian Jeaniver (knee) and Kristoffer Ajer (thigh) as well as midfielder Josh Dasilva (hip).

Raya will continue to be a big miss for the Bees and will be replaced by 23-year-old shot-stopper Alvaro Fernandez, who has deputised for the past four matches.

Defender Mads Bech Sorensen, midfielder Mathias Jensen and forward Yoane Wissa are all to set to return to the matchday squad against the Blues, however.

Providing an update on the fitness of his first-team squad, Frank told reporters: "Wissa will make the bench; he is looking better which is positive. He still has a bit to go to get to that very good fitness level he had before he got injured. He’s looking sharper and scoring goals in training

"From the last squad, everyone is fit.

"Mathias Jensen will also be available for selection. Most likely Zanka (Jorgensen) will miss the game. Mads Bech Sorensen is available."
