Latest breakdown for coronavirus cases across Nottinghamshire area-by-area

There have been 326 new coronavirus cases recorded in Nottingham and the county over the past 24 hours.

The latest government figures show the new positive tests from across the county today, Tuesday, December 15.

One of the biggest increases came in Bassetlaw, which had nearly 10 more than the previous day.

There have now been 4,224 cases in the area since the pandemic began.

Nottingham's cases have risen again with another 100 in 24 hours, with the total now standing at 18,048 in the city.

Here are the amount of cases in each area of Nottinghamshire:

Ashfield - 3,937 (increase of 35)

Bassetlaw - 4,224 (increase of 46)

Broxtowe - 3,629 (increase of 20)

Gedling - 3,871 (increase of 36)

Mansfield - 3,307 (increase of 25)

Newark and Sherwood - 3,379 (increase of 33)

Nottingham - 18,048 (increase of 100)

Rushcliffe - 3,549 (increase of 31)

The news comes after it emerged that a further 506 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Tuesday, bringing the UK total to 64,908.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 81,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK.

The Government said that, as of 9am on Tuesday, there had been a further 18,450 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK.

It brings the total number of cases in the UK to 1,888,116.
