Glasgow City Council have rejected a fresh bid to turn a west end salon into a new food venue.
Renewed proposals were put forward for a licensed delicatessen, cafe and hot food takeaway at 348 Crow Road in Broomhill, the former Therapy hair and spa premises.
The plans were submitted by restaurateur Ed Avdiasi, owner of Pianola and nearby Kothel, who had a previous bid to turn the property into a restaurant rejected last June with the council citing noise and waste management concerns as well as a desire to maintain the retail offering in the area.
And the Council have refused the latest application on the grounds 'the proposal was not considered to be in accordance with the Development Plan'.
The planning application stated: "The application accords with Policy CDP 4: Network of Centres, meeting the day to day needs of the community by providing licensed delicatessen retail use combining with a café and hot food takeaway use, and demonstrating that there is a lack of demand for continued retail use.
"The property will operate as now detailed below and illustrated in Plan xx: a delicatessen area, a servery area for hot and cold drinks and hot food, window display for delicatessen, an area for food storage, preparation, and heating and internal seating area."
Opening hours would have been Sunday to Thursday 8am - 11pm, and Friday to Saturday, 8am - midnight.
