Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Willian deal close, Gabriel boost, Coutinho latest

Arsenal continue to try and strengthen their squad this summer after winning the FA Cup.

The Gunners are reported to have dispensed with their scouting department in an effort to cut costs following the coronavirus crisis.

It means it will be an interesting transfer window at the Emirates Stadium.

With that in mind, here is the latest Arsenal transfer gossip.

Willian agrees deal

Sportsmole report that Willian has agreed a three-year deal with Arsenal.

The winger is set to leave Chelsea after the Blues failed to meet his contract demands - which was namely the length of the deal.

Yet Arsenal want to keep the Brazilian in London and are said to have agreed a three-year contract at £100,000-a-week.

A move is expected to be announced before the end of August.

Magalhaes boost

ESPN report that Gabriel Magalhaes is keen to join Arsenal.

The Lille centre-back has been tipped to become one of the most dominant defenders in Europe and looked set to move to Napoli.

Yet the Gunners are said to be out to hijack the deal for the 22-year-old, who is now thought to be keen on a move to North London.

A deal for Magalhaes would likely see a centre-back pairing of him and William Saliba next season.

Philippe Coutinho rejected

The Mirror report that Arsenal have rejected the opportunity to sign Philippe Coutinho this summer.

Former Liverpool playmaker Coutinho looks set to leave Barcelona this summer following the end of his loan spell at Bayern Munich.

The Gunners were heavily linked with a potential loan switch for the player but they have opted to turn this down.
