After a tumultuous start to the season, Arsenal have slowly but surely started to improve under Mikel Arteta, with the latest highlight being the 4-0 victory over Newcastle United.
The Spaniard has given the youth a chance, as well as improving the form of senior members of the squad, leading to a revival in the push for Champions League football.
That being said, there is still a major rebuild to be done in the summer and Arteta did not use funds in the January market, instead electing to secure two additions on loan.
As such, plenty of rumours are floating about and here are today’s Arsenal transfer rumours.
Upamecano opens door to transfer
RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano has left the door open to a potential exit from the German side, handing a boost to Arsenal.
The Gunners are long term admirers of the young Frenchman, and reports suggest Mikel Arteta is looking to reignite that interest come the end of the season.
While Upamecano insisted he remains focused on success this campaign, the France U21 international didn’t rule out a move: "As I said, first focus on Leipzig. And afterwards, I know that I am being courted, that there are clubs that want me," he told RMC Sport.
I will talk well with my agents and my parents at the end of the season, and we will make the right decision."
Saka issues contract update
Bukayo Saka is yet to sign a new contract with Arsenal, and hasn’t confirmed whether he wants to stay with the club past the summer of 2021 when his current deal runs out.
The 18-year old has impressed since breaking into the first team this season, especially in recent weeks where he has filled in at left-back due to injuries to Sead Kolasinac and Kieran Tierney.
Both Liverpool and Manchester United are aware of the teenager’s situation, and are monitoring his progress. Arsenal are working hard to tie the youngster down to a longer deal, but Saka claimed: "I just leave all that stuff to my agent and my parents."
Burton seals exit
Arsenal have confirmed that Robbie Burton has left the club to join Dinamo Zagreb on a permanent transfer.
The club released a statement on their website confirming the news, saying: "Robbie Burton has joined Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb on a permanent transfer.
"The 20-year-old midfielder joined the club when he was just six years old and developed through the ranks at the Arsenal Academy.
"Everyone at the club wishes Robbie the best of luck for his future."
