Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Thomas Partey deal close, Gunners eye La Liga trio

Arsenal have eased some concerns that were raised following their return to action by winning back-to-back matches over the course of the past week.

Victory in the Premier League against Southampton and an FA Cup triumph against Sheffield United has provided a boost to Mikel Arteta's side ahead of the hosting of Brighton on Wednesday.

There is no doubting that there is work to do this summer though, with Arteta looking to improve his options at Arsenal by utilising the transfer market.

Rumours suggest that is exactly what he is looking to do and we have gathered some of the latest snippets below.

Thomas Partey deal 'close'

Arsenal are close to securing a deal to bring Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey to the Emirates Stadium, according to Spanish outlet La Razon.

The Gunners have made the Ghana international their top priority ahead of the transfer window and a path has been cleared for them to bring him to the club.

His release clause of £47million will have to be met for Atletico to agree to a departure but the report suggests that will not be a problem.

Arsenal's budget for the window is not yet known but the figure will have been affected by the economical impact from the coronavirus crisis.

Three La Liga targets eyed

The aforementioned report from Spanish outlet La Razon does not just share an update on Partey, as it's also suggested Arsenal have their eyes on three more La Liga targets.

Levante midfielder Enis Bardhi, said to cost around £18million, is one name linked with a move but the Gunners could face a battle for the 24-year-old.

Marc Roca is also on Arteta's radar and could be snapped up for well below his £36.4million valuation if Espanyol's probable relegation is confirmed.

Finally, Valencia's Carlos Soler is also being linked despite his mammoth £136m release clause as the Spanish outfit need to balance the books.

Folarin Balogun to leave

While most of the attention will orientate around incoming deals, exits from Arsenal are also expected and The Athletic states Folarin Balogun will be one of the first to leave.

The highly-rated forward has excelled for the club's youth ranks, including in the U23 side this season, but first-team opportunities have proven difficult to come by.

As well as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, Balogun is also behind Eddie Nketiah, Gabriel Martinelli and Tyreece John-Jules in the pecking order.

As a result, Balogun is keen on seeking senior opportunities elsewhere and Arsenal will sell this summer to avoid a free transfer next year.
