Arsenal are looking at potential reinforcements to try and bolster their squad for Mikel Arteta’s first full campaign at the club.
It’s been an impressive start to life at the Emirates Stadium for Arteta, who won the FA Cup in his debut season as manager.
However, the Gunners were unable to finish in the top four, which will be the Spaniard’s main priority ahead of the upcoming season after ending the season in eighth.
Unsurprisingly, Arsenal have been linked with a host of players to bolster their options, and with that being said, here are the very latest transfer rumours.
Diawara interest
Arsenal have made initial contact over a potential move for Amadou Diawara as they bid to strengthen their midfield options.
Thomas Partey of Atletico Madrid has long been Arsenal's first-choice option as they look to reinforce their midfield but the Spanish club won't accept less than his £45million release clause, in one lump sum.
As a result, Football.london understands that the Gunners have placed Roma midfielder Diawara on their list of targets.
Reports in Italy have claimed that Arsenal and Roma could negotiate a swap deal involving Diawara heading in one direction and Lucas Torreira the other.
Partey competition
Arsenal will face competition from Juventus for Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey.
The Gunners are keen to sign up the holding midfielder this summer, with Partey said to be keen on the move.
However, Gazzetta Dello Sport report they'll be battling interest from the Serie A champions for his signature.
Partey was on the bench as Atletico Madrid crashed out of the Champions League last night.
Willian salary
Willian will earn an astonishing £220,000 per week when he signs for Arsenal as a free agent.
The former Chelsea star could not strike a deal with the Blues for an extension, who baulked at his demand for a three-year contract.
But the Gunners will strengthen their squad with the arrival of the Brazilian, who can expect a bumper deal which could be signed off by Sunday, report the Mail.
Arteta is keen to add some experience to his squad, with Willian also boasting the desired 'winning mentality' to help guide Arsenal's youngsters.
