Arsenal now have just 13 days remaining of this summer’s transfer window after a fairly busy period so far.
The Gunners have signed Cedric Soares, Willian, Gabriel Magalhaes, Dani Ceballos and the newest signing - Runar Alex Runarsson - so far during this window.
Mikel Arteta has impressed during his short time as Arsenal boss and this summer window could prove to be a defining stage of his managerial career at the Emirates Stadium.
It seems the Spaniard is keen to bring in some more new players before the window shuts, as you can read below in the latest Arsenal transfer rumours.
Arsenal wanted Thiago before Liverpool move
Premier League trio Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea all held an interest in signing Thiago Alcantara before the Spain midfielder moved to Liverpool.
That’s according to Raphael Honigstein, speaking on a podcast on The Athletic, saying that the Gunners did enquire about the 29-year-old’s situation at Bayern Munich.
Honigstein said: “I think there was some cursory interest, there might have been one or two preliminary talks or people just enquiring what the situation is.
“I’ve always been told by someone close to Liverpool that they were always very, very confident that Thiago had decided to go for them and it was just a case of striking a deal between Bayern and Liverpool.”
Gunners open to selling Mustafi amid interest
Arsenal are willing to sell defender Shkodran Mustafi, amid interest from Lazio and Napoli, according to German publication Kicker.
Mustafi is somewhat out-of-favour under Arteta, it seems, and if the right offer came in for the German defender, then the Gunners would accept it - the report claims.
The 28-year-old previously had a two-year spell in the Serie A with Sampdoria before he joined Valencia after the 2014 World Cup.
The Arsenal defender is currently sidelined through a knee injury and is not expected to return to action until October.
Arsenal 'like' the look of Daka
Arsenal like the look of Red Bull Salzburg forward Patson Daka, although he is not looking for a move this summer.
The Zambian forward has been looked at by the Gunners, football.london understands, although a deal is very unlikely to happen before October 5.
The 21-year-old has started this season in red-hot form for Salzburg, scoring twice in two games in the Austrian top-flight.
Daka caught the eye in pre-season, as Salzburg drew 2-2 with Liverpool, and the youngster scored an early brace.
