Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Samuel Umtiti blow, left-back interest, midfielder exit

The Premier League continues to plan for a potential return to continue the 2019/20 season and that means we could yet see Arsenal back in action next month.

It's been over two months since the Gunners were last in action and there's plenty of interest around how Mikel Arteta's side will finish the season.

But that has not stopped reports claiming they are looking ahead and planning their summer transfer business.

With that in mind, here are the latest transfer rumours from the Emirates.

Umtiti blow

Barcelona will not allow Samuel Umtiti to leave the club this summer.

The Frenchman was rumoured to leave the Nou Camp this summer in a potential swap deal with Inter Milan.

Arsenal too have been linked with Umtiti as they look to add to their defensive options.

However, Marca report that the chances of the defender leaving Barcelona are 'practically zero'.

Maitland-Niles to leave

Ainsley Maitland-Niles will leave Arsenal this summer after falling out of favour with Arteta.

Arsenal are one of many clubs to have been financially impacted by COVID-19, which will leave thems searching for revenue in the transfer market.

As a result, according to The Athletic , Maitland-Niles is likely to be moved on in the summer window.

The 22-year-old, who joined the club as a six-year-old, has racked up 91 appearances for Arsenal since making his debut in 2014.

Arsenal want Taglifico

Arsenal are interested in signing Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico.

The 27-year-old Argentine has continued to catch the eye this season, scoring five as well as providing seven assists.

Arteta is among those queuing up to secure his services, according to The Sun.

Tagliafico, who is also being monitored by Chelsea, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, could be the answer to a problem the Gunners thought they had solved last summer when they signed left-back Kieran Tierney from Celtic.
