Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Real Madrid striker 'offered', Fenerbache deliver Ozil update

The transfer window is well and truly open and Arsenal have already made a transfer, but the Gunners are planning several more moves to strengthen their squad.

Unai Emery has a challenging rebuild ahead, with the departures of Danny Welbeck, Petr Cech, Aaron Ramsey and Stephan Lichtsteiner leaving the squad in need of reinforcements.

Arsenal completed the deal to bring Gabriel Martinelli this week, and are thought to be looking for a central defender, a midfielder and a winger this summer, so who will arrive at the Emirates in the next month? Here's a look at the latest Arsenal transfer rumours:

Mariano Diaz

According to the  Mirror , Arsenal have been offered Real Madrid striker Mariano Diaz in a cut-price £18m deal.

Diaz is surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu and Arsenal have been sounded out about taking him for a minimal fee.

The Gunners require another back-up forward since allowing Danny Welbeck to leave the club.

Kieran Tierney

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has claimed it’s business as usual for Kieran Tierney, despite speculation linking the full-back with Arsenal.

Lennon stated that the Gunners were yet to return with an improved offer for the 22-year-old defender after Celtic turned down two bids last month.

Arsenal’s approaches came up short in the Hoops’ valuation of Tierney, with Celtic holding out for £25 million.

Despite continued speculation linking his player with a move away, Lennon has denied there has been any progress over a proposed deal.

Lennon said: "I have taken no notice of the headlines. I am well aware of where we are in terms of the situation.

"I spoke to Kieran in Austria and to be honest I haven’t really seen much of him because he came back early for rehab, so has not been on the training ground as yet.

"It can be an unsettling period for any player and that is understandable but until a club comes up with any sort of realistic valuation of the player we don’t have to do anything and we won’t.

"It’s as you were. Kieran is getting on with his rehabilitation and we are getting on with what we have to do here."

Mesut Ozil

Fenerbache have been linked with a loan for Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil in recent weeks.

The German midfielder is available for transfer this summer, but his £350k-a-week wages have put potential suitors off.

The Turkish side were reported to be interested in signing the World Cup winner on a loan deal, but in  an official statement on their website , Fenerbache admitted the deal is not financially possible.

They wrote: "In recent weeks, and especially in the last few days, the necessity of providing information about the claims of Mesut Özil, which is on the agenda, to clarify the situation has arisen.

"Mesut Özil, with his career and stance successfully represents our country abroad, is an important value known with the identity of Fenerbahce.

"However, Fenerbahce does not have an initiative for Mesut Ozil. Under the current economic conditions, such a step is not possible for both parties."
