Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Rakitic call, Elneny to Trabzonspor, Diego Carlos targeted

Arsenal are celebrating following their FA Cup win on Saturday.

The silverware gives them European football next season and also shows they still have the potential to compete for trophies.

So will the tournament victory give them a better chance of landing any transfer targets this summer?

Mikel Arteta targets defender after Shkodran Mustafi injury

Here are the latest Arsenal transfer rumours.

Arsenal in Rakitic race

Le10 Sport claim that Mikel Arteta has rung Barcelona star Ivan Rakitic over a potential move to Arsenal.

The midfielder is expected to leave the Nou Camp this summer after six years with the Spanish giants.

Arteta is said to have contacted Rakitic to outline how he would use the Croatian at the club.

Rakitic is said to prefer to stay in Spain or move to Italy and would take some convincing to move to the Premier League.

Trabzonspor to hold Elneny talks

Turkish-Football report that Trabzonspor are set to hold talks with Arsenal over a loan deal for Mohamed Elneny.

Trabzonspor are said to have received a green light to move forward with the deal after preliminary talks between the club and Elneny's representatives.

Elneny spent this season on loan at Besiktas, who are keen to keep him.

Yet a pay dispute due to financial issues with the Istanbul side could well mean Elneny opts to go elsewhere.

Carlos wanted

Arsenal are now the front runners to sign Sevilla defender Diego Carlos, according to the Telegraph.

Mikel Arteta is keen to strengthen his defence this summer and has identified the Brazilian centre-back as a priority target.

Manchester City and Liverpool have also been linked with the 27-year-old yet Arsenal hold the strongest interest in him.
