Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Pep Guardiola targets former Arsenal star, Benrahma deal eyed

Whilst we await the resumption of this season, there are plenty of long-term issues to be resolved at Arsenal.

The Gunners are in the process of planning for next season under Mikel Arteta, but it remains to be seen whether the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are still at the club.

Here are the latest rumours from the Emirates.

Benrahma wanted

Arsenal Awards 2019/20 Winners

The Express report that Arsenal have expressed an interest in Brentford star Said Benrahma.

Benrahma has been a stand-out performer in the Championship this season and has attracted plenty of interest from Premier League clubs.

The winger's exploits have also seen him linked with Chelsea, Leicester City, West Ham and Aston Villa.

He has scored an impressive 21 goals and created 25 more in 79 appearances for the Bees since his £1.5m move from Nice in 2018.

The Gunners are said to be in the running to bring the 24-year-old to the Emirates.

Man City target former starlet

The Daily Star report that Manchester City are interested in signing former Arsenal starlet Ismael Bennacer.

AC Milan star Bennacer left the Gunners for Empoli in 2017 after failing to break into the first-team at the Emirates.

He impressed enough with Empoli to be snapped up by Milan and has since gone from strength to strength in Serie A.

Reports now suggest that Man City are lining up a £44.7m bid for the 22-year-old, which is enough of a bid for AC Milan to consider selling.

The playmaker is also said to be wanted by PSG, but Man City consider him the perfect candidate to replace David Silva.

Aubameyang still wanted by Barca

The Daily Mail claim Barcelona are still keeping tabs on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - but he very much remains their second choice.

Aubameyang has just a year left on his contract, which has seen him included on a number of clubs' shopping lists this summer in the hope they can sign the striker on the cheap.

Barca are one of those clubs but their top target remains £98million Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez.

Martinez's release clause expires on July 15 and, whilst Barca are hoping Inter will accept around £45m and two players for the 22-year-old, the Italian giants are more interested in a greater fee.

Barca do not currently have that money so may well turn their attentions back to Aubameyang.

However, if a deal can be reached, then Inter could well look to pour their Martinez money into a fee for Aubameyang.
