Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Mikel Arteta ready to seal £27m deal, Dembele contact made

This summer will be Mikel Arteta’s first end of season transfer window as manager of Arsenal and it could be one that determines his first full campaign with the club.

Arteta took over from Unai Emery earlier this season and has only had January to bring in players to help improve his squad.

However, this summer may be a slightly quieter one than usual, in terms of spending, due to the coronavirus pandemic’s effect on how much each team can spend.

With that being said, here is a selection of the best Arsenal transfer rumours from today.

Arsenal ready to snatch Everton target in £27million deal

Arsenal are tracking Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

Magalhaes, 22, looked set to join Everton this summer but the Toffees were unable to reach an agreement with his current club Lille.

That has put Arsenal on alert, according to the Express, with the Gunners considering a move for the player.

Mikel Arteta has made no secret of his desire to add new faces during the next transfer window, with the centre of defence considered a major task for the Arsenal boss.

The Gunners are currently ninth in the Premier League, and prior to the league shutting down due to the coronavirus they had conceded 36 goals in 28 games.

Although Arteta may want the defender, he won’t come cheap. Lille are believed to be demanding a fee in the region of €30million for Magalhaes, which has proven to be a sticking point for Everton so far.

Arsenal ‘make contact’ with French striker

Arsenal are believed to have made contact with Moussa Dembele according to reports in France.

Dembele, 23, joined current club Lyon from Celtic in 2018 and has gone on to become one of Ligue 1’s top marksmen.

That has seen him linked with a clutch of English sides including Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United, but it is believed that Arsenal are the first side to make contact, according to L’Equipe.

Arsenal have long-admired Dembele, who managed 16 goals in Ligue 1 before the season was ended due to the coronavirus.

Arsenal target could be set for shock Galatasaray move

Turkish giants Galatasaray are chasing Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser, according to reports.

Fraser, 26, is out of contract with the Cherries next month and that has alerted a number of clubs to his services.

The likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Crystal Palace have been linked with a move for the winger who joined Bournemouth from Aberdeen in 2013.

They have been joined in that race by Galatasaray, according to Aksam via the Daily Record.

The same report says that Fraser has agreed to enter talks with the club if they secure a Champions League spot for next season.

The club are currently third in the Turkish Super Lig, three points behind league leaders Trabzonspor.
