Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Mesut Ozil offer, Dani Ceballos hint, Houssem Aouar admission

There’s now less than three months until the January transfer window opens and Arsenal can once again sign players from abroad.

As it stands, the Gunners can still make moves for players from the EFL - until October 16 - but the international window closed last Monday.

It was a successful period for Mikel Arteta and the club’s board, who have significantly improved the squad - massively helped by the introduction of Thomas Partey.

Here are the latest Arsenal transfer rumours.

Four significant omissions from Arsenal's Europa League squad

Ozil offered move to Saudi Arabia

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has been offered a chance to play his football in Saudi Arabia, according to football consultant Ian McGarry.

McGarry revealed on the Transfer Window Podcast that Ozil and Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata are both subjects of 'lucrative offers' from the Saudi league.

"There has been a proposal to Mesut Ozil which would go down very well with the hierarchy at Arsenal if they managed to get Ozil off their books," McGarry said.

“I believe Ozil has turned down that move partly because of his relationships and history with Turkey, who do not have the best of diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia at present.”

Ceballos hints at permanent deal

On-loan midfielder Dani Ceballos has hinted at moving to Arsenal on a permanent deal by describing the Gunners as 'my club'.

Ceballos re-signed for Arteta’s side after a successful loan spell at the Emirates Stadium last season.

Talking about his second successive season in London, Ceballos said: “I spoke with Madrid to say that Arteta wanted me to come back. They asked me to wait, but I was clear that I wanted to return to my club, where I had found myself very well.

“You sit down to appreciate that the Euros and Olympic Games are coming and you know that you have to play an important role in the team. With Mikel, I found happiness as a player and as a person and that is key for a player."

Aouar opens up on failed Arsenal switch

Reported Arsenal target Houssem Aouar has opened up on the collapsed move to the Emirates Stadium in the summer.

The Lyon star insisted he was not disappointed despite the two clubs failing to agree on a fee for his services.

The French club wanted £44 million for Aouar, but the Gunners were reluctant to pay that for the talented midfielder.

Aouar said on the failed move: “Disappointed? I am the opposite. I am at home, in the club that I love, with my friends and my family.”
