Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Marc Roca £35m chase, Lautaro Martinez deal bad news for Arsenal

Arsenal are just over a week away from resuming the 2019/20 season, starting with a baptism of fire as they travel to face Manchester City.

The Gunners remain outsiders in the hunt for European football heading into the conclusion of the campaign but significant challenges lie ahead.

Mikel Arteta's project at the Emirates Stadium is certainly a long-term one and plenty of attention will be cast towards his first summer transfer window.

Rumours are already firing around and we have gathered some of the latest snippets for you below.

The impact of Arsenal's lost match-day income

Leading Marc Roca hunt

Arsenal are leading the chase to sign highly-rated Espanyol midfielder Marc Roca ahead of the next transfer window, Spanish outlet La Razon reports.

The 23-year-old is widely expected to leave the club currently rooted to the bottom of La Liga and has entered the final two years of his contract with the club.

Therefore, the Catalan side could cash in when the transfer window opens and, while he has a reported release clause of £35m in his contract, Espanyol could accept a lower offer.

Everton and AC Milan are also attributed with an interest in the U21 European Champion but Mikel Arteta's side are said to have the edge.

Inter Milan targeting Arsenal duo

Inter Milan are resigned to the fact that Lautaro Martinez will leave the San Siro this summer and are looking to raid Arsenal as a result, Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness states.

The highly-rated forward has emerged as Barcelona's prime target for their rebuild and the departure of the Argentine will leave Inter in the hunt for a new striker.

As a result, it's stated that Inter are expressing an interest in both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, both of whom have been linked with an exit from North London.

Aubameyang has entered the final 12 months of his contract at the club, while Lacazette has attracted vast interest from Atletico Madrid.

Mkhitaryan keen on permanent Roma move

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is keen on making his loan stint with Roma permanent at the end of the current season, after catching the eye in Serie A.

"Of course I would like to be at Roma next season, not only next season [but] for another few years," Mkhitaryan said on the Futbol with Grant Wahl podcast.

"But I still have a contract with Arsenal and it’s not up to me. It’s up to Arsenal and Roma if they will agree on terms of the transfer fee.

"If not in Rome, I’m going to go back and play for Arsenal, if not, I’m going to stay here and play for Rome."
