Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Man United hijack £16m deal, Ozil and Ceballos decisions

Ozil to decide Arsenal future

Mesut Ozil could be set to leave Arsenal when his contract expires at the end of next season.

The German playmaker has been at the club since 2013 following a move from Real Madrid and signed a new deal in 2018, taking him to 2021.

However, with rumours of a possible move to Turkish side Fenerbahce being touted, the player’s agent refused to rule out a move but revealed the player will honour his contract before making a decision on his future.

"Mesut has a one-year contract. There will be no change in this regard," Erkut Sogut told beIN Sport via Fanatik. "So what happens next, time will show.

"I cannot speak about Mesut and Fenerbahçe because I have no right to speak on this matter according to the principle of confidentiality."

Ceballos unlikely to make Gunners return

Dani Ceballos is unlikely to extend his stay at the Emirates after his loan from Real Madrid ends at the conclusion of the season.

There is no current deal for an extension in place, nor an option to buy but the player is reportedly not in Zinedine Zidane’s immediate plans at the Bernabeu according to reports in El Confidencial.

Ceballos, who made the temporary move to north London in the summer of 2019 on a season-long deal, has missed two months of the campaign with injury but has started Arsenal’s three most recent matches under Mikel Arteta.

However, it seems the Gunners boss will allow the player to return to Madrid in the summer.

Manchester United competition for midfielder

Arsenal look set to miss out on the signing of Vélez Sarsfield midfielder Thiago Almada, with Manchester United set to hijack the move.

The Gunners had been linked with an approach for the 19-year-old but reports in Italian publication Tutto Mercarto say United had already made contact with the player’s representatives.

Ole Gunnar’s Solskjaer's side are reportedly set to pay £16 million and with Inter also said to be interested, Arsenal face competition in the race for the player’s signature.
