Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Man United beat Gunners to youngster, update in Tierney race

There is under a week left in the summer transfer window for Arsenal to do their business.

The Gunners have now completed four signings, as William Saliba, Dani Ceballos and 18-year-old Brazilian forward Gabriel Martinelli were joined at the Emirates Stadium by Nicolas Pepe, with the Gunners sealing a sensational swoop for the Lille winger on Thursday.

On the pitch, Arsenal have completed their pre-season tour of the United States of America, and were beaten by Lyon in Emirates Cup on Sunday.

They drew 1-1 with Angers on Wednesday, before winning on penalties as they stepped up their preparations for the start of the Premier League season.

Below, we take a look at the latest transfer rumours involving the Gunners for players who could arrive - and leave.

Kieran Tierney

Arsenal reportedly expect Kieran Tierney to arrive in the coming days, with Unai Emery eyeing two more signings before transfer deadline day on Thursday.

The Gunners have so far added Gabriel Martinelli, Dani Ceballos and Nicolas Pepe to their first-team squad this summer, with William Saliba joining up with the squad next summer.

And after a summer spent chasing Celtic left-back Tierney, the  Express  report that Arsenal expect the defender to arrive soon in a deal worth £25m, with Unai Emery also hoping to land a new centre-back before the window closes.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon told reporters that Arsenal are yet to met the Scottish club's valuation for Tierney.

"Obviously the window in England shuts on Thursday. It can be an unsettling period for any player.

"We have rejected two bids and the clubs know the valuation that we value Kieran (Tierney) at and it’s not been met. Obviously the window in England shuts on Thursday. It can be an unsettling period for any player.

"He is dealing with it very well. We are living in an age now where it’s coming at you from all angles, especially on social media. He is only 22. We have to be mindful of that as well.

"He is trying to keep his feet on the ground and stay focused on the present."

Hannibal Mejbri

Manchester United have reportedly beaten competition from Arsenal to sign talented youngster Hannibal Mejbri from Monaco.

The 16-year-old has not yet signed a professional contract at the Ligue 1 side, but the two clubs have come to an agreement worth just under €10m, according to  L’Equipe .

Bayern Munich and Arsenal both apparently made late bids to try and sign the attacking midfielder, but he has turned down their advances to make the move to Old Trafford.
