Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Malang Sarr interest, George Lewis transfer close

With the transfer window now open, all eyes are on what business Mikel Arteta will do this summer at Arsenal.

The Gunners of course have the FA Cup final to look ahead to on Saturday, which could have a big bearing on their business this summer.

Lifting the trophy would see Arsenal qualify for the Europa League, which would no doubt be a big boost to Arteta’s hopes of making some big signings.

Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming from north London.

Mikel Arteta targets defender after Shkodran Mustafi injury

Ozil future hint

Mesut Ozil will not be leaving Arsenal this summer and is determined to see out his contract at the Emirates his agent has revealed.

Ozil has 11 months remaining on the £350,000-a-week contract he signed in January 2018 but has fallen out of favour with Mikel Arteta and is yet to play a minute of football since its return in June.

The playmaker has long been linked with a move away from the Gunners this summer, but it now appears he is going nowhere.

"I don't think Mesut will leave before the summer of 2021," Erkut Sogut told Fanatik. "He's got an ongoing contract that hasn't changed. He will stay with Arsenal."

Sarr interest

Arsenal and Real Betis are leading the race for the signature of former Nice defender, Malang Sarr.

The defender is a free agent after opting not to renew his contract at the French side last season.

And Informafutbol is reporting that both the Gunners and Betis are eyeing the 21-year-old, but Betis are leading the chase.

Lewis close to signing

George Lewis is on the verge of sealing a move to Arsenal in the coming days after impressing on a trial back in March.

Sportsmail is reporting that the deal is expected to go through after Saturday's FA Cup final against Chelsea.

The 20-year-old who has previously spent time at both Ipswich and Bournemouth, impressed during a one-week trial at the Gunners back in March.
