Arsenal are still searching for their next manager, the wheels are in motion for the January transfer window.

Mikel Arteta is the bookmakers favourite to take over at the Emirates but will he, or any other potential manager, have any money to spend in the New Year to shape the squad?

Torreira set for Serie A return

Lucas Torreira could be set to return to Italy in January.

The diminutive midfielder struggled to establish himself as a first-choice midfield pick under Unai Emery, casting doubt over his long-term future at Arsenal.

TalkSPORT, via  Il Mattino , have suggested that Napoli could be set to test the club's resolve with a £21m bid, having tried to sign him before Arsenal beat them to the punch in 2018.

The 23-year-old has found starts easier to come by under Freddie Ljungberg although it's unclear if that will be enough to convince him to stay.

Man United battle for Swedish midfielder

Dejan Kulusevski is attracting the interest of Arsenal and Manchester United after impressing on loan at Parma.

The 19-year-old, who is owned by Atalanta, is also rumoured to be interesting Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan.

The Mirror claim it could take an offer of around £42m to bring him to the Premier League.

The report suggests Kuluseveski could have been available for as little as £8.5m in the summer but his valuation has sky-rocketed since moving on loan.

Youngster pens first contract

Arsenal youngster Catalin Cirjan has penned his first senior contract with the club.

The 17-year-old midfield playmaker joined the Gunners' academy as a scholar from Romanian side Viitorul Domnesti in July 2019.

He impressed heavily on his debut in the U-18 Premier League, providing two assists in a 5-1 win against Aston Villa, before going on to register three more assists in seven starts.
