Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Liverpool move for Balogun, Ozil to Juventus, no Aouar deal

Arsenal are finally enjoying a winning Sunday after pulling off a surprise win over London rivals Chelsea on Boxing Day.

Alexandre Lacazette, Granit Xhaka and Bukayo Saka were all on target as Mikel Arteta's men pulled off a 3-1 win over the Blues at the Emirates Stadium.

But the win is only Arsenal's fifth in the Premier League this season and there's no doubt Arteta will want to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window, which opens just a few day's time.

And with that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer rumours concerning the Gunners.

Liverpool plan Balogun swipe

Liverpool are said to be eyeing an audacious move to take Folarin Balogun away from the Emirates Stadium.

Balogun is out of contract at Arsenal in the summer and has rejected previous offers for a new deal over a lack of first-team opportunities.

The 19-year-old is yet to feature in the Premier League for the Gunners this season, having to settle for four Europa League appearances.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool are now looking to tease him away from Arsenal, free to negotiate a deal from January, though Arsenal are expected to make another offer with other clubs also said to be circling.

Juventus eye Ozil

Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly eyeing a move for Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil.

Ozil, who is currently exiled from Mikel Arteta's plans, is out of contract in the summer and is not keen on leaving before then.

But even so, Juventus are said to be eyeing a January transfer for the German with talks already ongoing, according to Tuttosport.

It's said Juventus are trying to lower Arsenal's asking price, unwilling to pay over the odds given Ozil is not part of the Gunners' plans and even more importantly, out of contract at the end of the season.

Gunners to drop Aouar interest

Arsenal's interest in midfielder Houssem Aouar has cooled ahead of the January transfer window.

That's according to The Athletic, who say the Gunners have fresh reservations over Aouar and are unlikely to pursue a deal for him having tracked the midfielder throughout the last window.

The Gunners were expected to make a real move for Aouar during the last window but ultimately decided to go with Thomas Partey, who joined on a £45million deal from Atletico Madrid in the dying moments of the window.

The interest in Aouar was expected to remain going into this winter and next summer, but the report claims the Gunners are likely to look elsewhere as they look to strengthen their midfield further.
