Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Houssem Aouar tipped to sign, Orbelin Pineda interest

During his time at Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has brought seven new players into the Emirates Stadium, with the majority being signed in a very busy summer transfer window.

The Gunners ' new recruits are really started to show their worth in the famous red and white shirt, and Arteta could look at the market again in January.

The mid-season window opens in less than two months now, and the London-based club may be looking for some more ins, as well as outs at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta : I like players with zero ego

With that being said, here are the latest transfer rumours concerning Arsenal.

Wright urges Gunners to sign Aouar

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has urged his former club to continue their pursuit of Lyon star Houssem Aouar.

Aouar was reportedly on the Gunners' radar throughout the summer transfer window, but a deal never materialised.

However, they could go back in for the talented Frenchman, as Wright explained to Premier League Productions (via Metro ).

The ex-Gunner said: "If he (Arteta) can continue to improve, like players improve with his coaching, and then he's able to add to that with Aouar, who they're trying to get in the midfield alongside Partey, then you've got someone who can create for the forwards."

Arsenal keen on Pineda

Arsenal are among seven Premier League clubs tracking Cruz Azul star Orbelin Pineda, according to 90Min.

Pineda is prepared to consider a move to Europe, with plenty of interest from the English top-flight.

As well as the Gunners; Tottenham, Wolves, West Ham United, Southampton, Everton and Newcastle United have all been tracking the 24-year-old, the report claims.

The Mexico international is also a target for Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, Porto and Monaco.

Adams identifies Gunners weaknesses

Former Arsenal captain Tony Adams has identified the two key areas that manager Arteta has to address in upcoming transfer windows, if the club are going to challenge for titles.

Adams believes if the Gunners can bring in a new first-choice goalkeeper instead of Bernd Leno, as well as a new attacking midfielder, then they can challenge for the Premier League title.

The ex-Gunners centre-back told Stadium Astro: "They'll finish above United. I think they're a top-six team. There are some great positive signs, but they are missing a goalkeeper and a number 10, someone up-front, to be champions.

"We have a couple of leaders in central defence and midfield. We're getting closer."
