Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Gunners prepare £36m Houssem Aouar bid, Lucas Torreira update

Arsenal made the ideal start to the 2020/21 Premier League campaign last weekend, defeating Fulham 3-0 at Craven Cottage.

Goals from Alexandre Lacazette, debutant Gabriel Magalahes and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang got the job done for Mikel Arteta's side as they made light work of the newly-promoted Cottagers.

Despite having shown some very encouraging signs against Scott Parker's troops, Arsenal continue to search for fresh faces to strengthen their squad. The likes of Thomas Partey of Atletico Madrid and Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar are amongst those to be most closely linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, with Arteta looking to strengthen his midfield options before the window closes.

With that in mind, here is a round-up of all the very latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours ahead of next month's October 5 deadline.

Aubameyang signs new Arsenal deal

Runarsson nears Arsenal move

Following the departure of Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa, Arsenal are keen to strengthen their goalkeeping options before the transfer window closes.

The club have been linked with signing Brentford goalkeeper David Raya but Icelandic shot-stopper Runar Alex Runarsson now appears to be a front-runner to be Bernd Leno's deputy.

And according to a report by SBNation, Arsenal are closing in on Runarsson, with the goalkeeper reportedly in London for a medical.

Torino closing in on Torreira deal

Midfielder Lucas Torreira is edging closer to sealing his exit from the Emirates Stadium, with Italian outfit Torino locked in talks with the Gunners over a loan deal.

According to the Daily Star, Torreira is attracting interest from the Serie A club and they are keen to strike a loan deal for his services.

Torino are believed to be targeting a paid loan with an option-to-buy clause that will only be triggered if certain objectives are reached.

Torreira was not part of the match-day squad that defeated Fulham on Saturday.

Gunners prepare opening Aouar bid

Arsenal are ready to launch their first bid for Lyon midfielder Aouar, a report by TEAMtalk claims.

Aouar is being heavily linked with a move to North London as the Gunners aim to strengthen their midfield options before the window closes in a little over two weeks time.

It has been reported that Aouar "would like" to seal a move to the Emirates Stadium and test himself in the Premier League.

It is reported that the Gunners are now ready to lodge their first official bid for the 22-year-old, with Arsenal ready to make an opening offer of £36million.
