Arsenal were brought back down to earth against Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
After impressive wins over Liverpool in the Premier League and Manchester City in the FA Cup, the good feeling was back at the Emirates Stadium.
But following the defeat to Villa, there is now no doubt Mikel Arteta will be desperate to improve his squad this summer to get the club back into top-four contention.
With that in mind, here we take a look at all the latest rumours and gossip surrounding the Gunners.
Aubameyang offer
Arsenal are set to offer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a £250,000-a-week contract.
The Telegraph is reporting that Arsenal chiefs have now responded to Mikel Arteta’s request to offer the forward a new deal and are ready to offer Aubameyang a stunning offer.
Aubameyang currently earns around £198,000 a week, according to reports, at Arsenal and will be a free agent in 12 months if he does not sign a new contract.
Brighton eye Maitland-Niles
Ainsley Maitland-Niles is wanted by Brighton this summer after failing to nail down a place under Mikel Arteta.
According to the Standard, Brighton are tracking the Arsenal academy product who is open to leaving the club at the end of the season.
The report goes on to add that the reason Maitland-Niles is open to a move is because he believes his Arsenal career is over.
Edouard price
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard, and Hoops boss Neil Lennon admits the striker “has a price”.
Despite the 22-year-old scoring 27 goals for Celtic this season, the Glasgow giants have yet to receive any offers for the Frenchman.
However, they are not ruling out his sale this summer to raise funds. Lennon said: “It is difficult to say, particularly in this climate currently, that a player is not going anywhere, because everyone has a price.
“Ideally we don’t want to sell our best players and we will remain steadfast on that. But if an offer comes in then I’m sure the club will consider it and do the best thing possible for the club going forward.”
